5 Tips to Help You Enjoy Your BBQ This Summer
Summer is here, what better way to enjoy spending time with loved ones than having a barbecue and enjoying great food together?
We’ve put together some tips and tricks to help you have the best barbecuing experience this summer:
1. Choose a Barbecue that is right for you
The debate of whether gas or charcoal is best has been firing on for years, but it depends on your needs and preference. When the Barbecue is ready to be used can depend on the type of barbecue, gas barbecues can get up to temperature quicker than charcoal models. Both have their pro and cons gas barbecues allow more controlled cooking as they are consistent and accurate with the heat, whereas charcoal barbecues are versatile and can create authentic smoky flavours and are not restricted by temperature control.

2. Store your Barbecue appropriately after use
Many people ask if barbecues can be left outside, we always recommend referring to the barbecue manual for specific needs of your barbecue. For barbecues being stored outside covering your barbecue when not in use helps to prolong the life of the grill and shield it from damage, especially during the winter months.
British Garden Centres stock a range of barbecue covers and shelters to help protect your barbecue.
3. Try something new
Did you know many recipes can be created on the barbecue? Try something a little different and discover new recipes like Griddled vegetables with melting aubergines or try being adventurous and create your own recipes.

4. Clean your Barbecue after every use
Allow your barbecue to cool down to a warm temperate after use before attempting to clean as this will aid in the removal of food residue left on the grill. Or if the barbecue has fully cooled down, heat the grates and use a grill brush such as the Weber grill brush to remove carbonised food residue. Barbecue grates can then be washed with soapy water and rinsed to remove soap. For cleaning the outside of the barbecue enamel or stainless steel, cleaners can be used to keep your barbecue looking its best.
